One fine day in New York we see a school bus approaching a laboratory. It pulled up to the laboratory and we see all sorts of students coming out. One particular student we see is a blonde haired boy wearing a leather jacket and black shirt with pants. His name is Kyle. He walked with his classmates and headed inside the laboratory. Once in we see a man in a lab coat approaching them.

“Hello students. Welcome to Future Enterprises. I’m Dr.Norman and I will be your tour guide. Please follow me and I’ll show you everything we do here.” He said.

The students all walked with Dr.Norman and stopped when he turned around.

“Ok. Our goal here in Future Enterprises is to make successful experiments for everyone to live a better future. Safe and enjoyable for all.” Dr.Norman said.

Kyle raised his hand.

“Yes sir?” Dr.Norman said.

“Do you guys make like mutations of animals that can help others?” Kyle said.

“Why yes we do. Follow me and I’ll show you.” Dr. Norman said.

The class all followed him to different tanks that hold different mutated creatures.

“Over here we have Earth Gorillas that can tear up pieces of land and use in destroying. They also can plant anything you want in the ground. We use different oozes that give creatures different abilities.” Dr Norman said as they went to another tank.

“And over here we have the Nightmare eels. These eels are mutated by our dark ooze. Just be care not to get bit by one or you’ll be having nightmares for weeks.” Dr Norman said.

After Norman finished explaining all the different mutated creatures that they had the class took the time to explore. Kyle went up stairs and saw that there were more projects to see. Suddenly he saw that the power was acting up. He looked up and saw that the circuit was loose.

“Oh great. Circuit’s loose. Guess I better fix this.” Kyle said.

He went up more to where he can see the circuit. He also saw a man wearing a lab coat and brown skin with glasses trying to fix it. He was Max. He saw Kyle.

“Excuse me sir what are you doing up here? It's dangerous.” Max said.

"Sorry about that. I was wondering if maybe you could use some help fixing that circuit." Kyle said.

"Actually now that you mentioned it yes I would like some help. Lemme get Gil to shut the power on the third floor." Max said picking up the phone.

He waited for Gil to answer but no reply. Max hung up and got frustrated.

"Ugh! Why does he never listen?! Alright man carefully climb up til you get close to the circuit." Max said.

Kyle did what he was told to do and got close to the circuit. He grabbed the loose pieces and using his strength he put them back together and the power was stable again.

"Good job. Now put it back into place." Max said.

"Not a problem." Kyle said.

He took the circuit and placed it back where it should go. But that resulted of him getting shocked as he screamed in pain. Max saw him and needed to get help.

"Oh my god! Hang on sir! I'll get help!" Max said as he went to the emergency speaker. "Attention all staff! We need to shut the power on the third floor! A young man will get hurt if we don't!"

The circuit couldn't hang on anymore as it came loose and Kyle fell through screaming and he fell into the tank of nightmare eels. That made them swim violently and started biting him. Norman saw that and gasped.

"Oh shit! Get the police! Help him get out of that tank!" Dr.Norman said.

In the tank Kyle struggled to get out but that made the eels bite him more. After each bite Kyle started feeling a surge of purple electricity go through his body. It flashed a lot and Kyle was still screaming even if he's underwater. Even his teeth glowed purple! Then all of a sudden the electricity glowed so brightly that the tank exploded scaring everyone. They looked to see if Kyle was ok but they couldn't find the body. For some strange reason it disappeared. At the same time the cops arrived but were too late.

"Sorry sir. We would have gotten here sooner but we got caught in a robbery." One cop said.

"It's fine. Now find the body, contact his parents, and see if we can get him healed." Dr. Norman said.

Little did Kyle know that his life was about to change. But he'll be bringing fear to evil.

In the peaceful land of Equestria we see a castle in Canterlot which is home to Princess Celestia. Inside we see her signing some letters and saw one of her guards coming towards her.

"News from Northern Equestria your highness." The guard said.

"Yes?" Celestia said.

"Im afraid to tell you that 'it' has returned." The guard said.

Princess Celestia knew what that meant when he said that.

"Find Princess Cadence and Shining Armor." Celestia said.

"Yes your highness." A guard said as he and the others took off to do their duty. Princess Celestia immediately began writing to Twilight.

"My dearest Twilight. You must come to Canterlot at once."

In Ponyville in the house of a tree we see a humanoid unicorn pacing around the house and freaking out. Yes this has happened before.

"Where are all my quills?!" Twilight said.

She found them and placed them in a sack that Spike was holding. Her friends were watching the whole thing and were worried about Twilight. She found a giant book and it crushed Spike. He tried to pick it up but it was too heavy.

"Flash cards! I need some flash cards! Spike I need you to quiz me on everything I ever learned! Everything!" Twilight said.

Spike who managed to get the book off of him was starting to get frustrated with her.

"Twilight you need to calm down! It's just a test!" Spike said.

But he instantly regret saying that as Twilight twitched.

"Just a test?" Twilight said starting to get angry. "JUST A TEST?! Princess Celestia wants to give me an exam and you are telling me to relax because it's JUST A TEST?!"

Spike protected himself but before he could say anything a flash of purple light blinded everyone in the room. Once it died down they see a creature glowing an ominous purple all over the body and has dark purple hair. He was laying on the ground til he slowly rose up til he was on his two feet breathing heavy. Everyone saw him and were confused.

"Who the hay is that?" Applejack said.

He didn't turn around as he continued to stare at Twilight and Spike. He then pointed at Twilight.

"You. Calm down or face the punishment." He said.

"You know Twilight whoever he is has the right idea. Also yes it is just a test." Spike said.

But that didn't make Twilight any better as she lit her horn in anger about to explode. The creature saw this and needed to do something. Then to everyone's surprise he blasted some purple lightning straight at Twilight shocking her in pain. Her friends saw that and the tree exploded. After it did Twilight was all smoked up and fell down. Her friends were all speechless. Even Spike.

"What did you do that for darling?!" Rarity said.

He turned around and faced them.

"Yeah! Who are you and why did you shock Twilight?!" Rainbow said.

"Back home im known as Kyle. But I accidentally fell into a tank of nightmare eels and thus giving me this power. As for your friend she was about to go into freakout mode so I stopped her." Kyle said.

"Well thank you Kyle for stopping her. But how did you shoot that lightning out?" Spike said.

"Honestly im surprised as you are. But who are all of you anyway?" Kyle said.

"Well im Spike. These are my friends Rainbow, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and you already met Twilight." Spike said.

"Nice to meet you ladies. And Spike." Kyle said.

At the same time Twilight woke up clutching her head from all that lightning she got hit with and got up.

"Ow. Spike you can't zap me like tha...AAAHHHH!!! WHO IN THE NAME OF EQUESTRIA IS THAT?!" Twilight shouted.

"Twilight! Please don't scream! This is Kyle. He just wanted you to stop freaking out." Spike said.

"But why is he glowing purple?! And what creature is he?!" Twilight said.

"Hey!! Im not a creature! Im a human! Now quit asking questions before I rip your tongue out!!" Kyle said as some electricity sparked around him.

"Whoa whoa partner. Calm down. Twilight acts like that all the time when there's a test. It's ok." Applejack said.

Kyle sighed as he calmed down.

"Yeah man. Twilight's always like that." Rainbow said.

"I am not! But I think we need Princess Celestia to see him. She must know about him." Twilight said.

"Very well. Let's go see this Princess Celestia." Kyle said as they headed off.

In the castle we see the sisters looking at one of the color stained windows thinking about the task.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go along?" Luna said.

"Yes. Cadence and Shining Armor are already here. The others will join them soon." Celestia said.

"But his magic is too strong. We can't let him get away again." Luna said.

"Twilight will succeed at her task. Once she does then we'll know she's one step closer to being ready." Celestia said.

At that time Twilight arrived and smiled nervously. Celestia excused her sister and went to Twilight.

"Hi. I heard you wanted to give me a test. I brought my quills and paper of all my work." Twilight said making a mess of her stuff.

"Sorry! Sorry!" Twilight said trying to clean it up. But Celestia calmed her and picked it all up.

"Twilight. This is a different kind of test." Celestia said.

"Ok. But before you explain it I want you to meet someone. Come right on in sir!" Twilight said nervously.

Then two crystal radios came out and started playing music.

Kyle walked in the throne room and did his entrance. He started walking to Celestia and began to fly above her and summoned a guitar and rocked out the day. She was surprised at that but Twilight's eye twitched and she freaked out again.

"Would you get down and stop that music?!" Twilight said.

He stopped the music, got rid of the crystal radios and floated back to the ground.

"Don't like it to make an entrance? Killjoy." Kyle said.

Twilight frowned and Celestia went to him.

"Who might you be?" Celestia said as she placed a hand on him.

"Your Highness. Im Kyle. Im what you call a human."Kyle said.

"Interesting. Anyways lemme explain your test. The Crystal Empire has returned." Celestia said.

Twilight and Kyle were confused but they proceed to listen.

Kyle was confused as Celestia mentioned something about a crystal empire. But Twilight on the other hand was freaking out again thinking she didn't study for that.

"The Crystal Empire? Im sorry! I thought I studied! I don't think there's anything in my books abou..." Twilight said but got interrupted.

"There wouldn't be." Celestia said shocking Twilight.

"You wouldn't remembered it existed at all. Even my knowledge of the Crystal Empire limited." Celestia said as she took out a crystal and used her magic to summon a map of the Crystal Empire. "But what I do know is that it contains a powerful magic."

"Um Celestia? If I may ask you this. What exactly is the Crystal Empire?" Kyle said.

"Ah yes lemme explain. A thousand years ago King Sombra a unicorn whose heart is black as night took over the Crystal Empire." She said as the head of Sombra appeared. "He was ultimately overthrown, turned to shadow and banished into the ice of the Arctic North." She said as Sombra was trapped in the ice. "But not before he was able to place a curse on the empire. A curse that caused it to be banished into thin air." She finished as the map vanished.

"The Empire is filled with hope and love. And those things are reflected across Equestria." Celestia said as the crystal shined a rainbow. "But if hatred and fear take over then all lives will be lost." Celestia said as the crystal glowed evil trapping the two. Then she made it disappear.

"Ok im caught up. An evil king has returned and we got to stop him." Kyle said.

"Yes. Which is why I need your help to protect it." Celestia said.

"You want me to protect an entire empire?" Twilight said.

"As I said it's A different kind of test." Celestia said as she put the crystal away. "But one im certain you will pass."

Twilight now looked determined. "Where do I begin?"

"By joining Princess Cadence and Shining Armor at the Crystal Empire. Take Kyle with you. He may come handy." Celestia said.

"My brother's there?" Twilight said happy.

"He is. Plus your Ponyville friends will join you there as well. When you pass i'll know your ready for the next level of your studies." Celestia said.

But Luna didn't believe that. That made Twilight nervous.

"But what if I fail?" Twilight said.

"You won't." Celestia said.

"But wha.." Twilight said but got shocked by Kyle.

"She said that you won't. Now quit freaking out and let's stop this Sombra." Kyle said.

They were about to walk out but Celestia stopped them.

"But Twilight." Celestia said as Twilight faced her. "In the end it must be you and you only to ultimately do what it takes to help Cadence and Shining Armor protect the Empire. Do you understand?"

Twilight nodded yes.

"Good. Now Kyle? Would you see us in the throne room please?" Celestia said.

"Yes your highness." Kyle said as Twilight headed out where Spike was waiting.

"Twilight! That was quick! Lemme guess you got a perfect score!" Spike said but no answer. He tried answering her but she didn't reply. Just a sad look on her face was telling him she's worried about the task.

Meanwhile in the Canterlot throne room we see the sisters and Kyle in here discussing something that can help Twilight stop Sombra.

"Ok ladies. What exactly did you need to discuss?" Kyle said.

"Well for starters how were you able to possess such electric power in your body?" Luna said.

"I honestly don't know. All I know is that I accidentally fell into a tank of nightmare eels and got bit. For some reason the electricity surged in my body and making me look like this." Kyle said.

"I see. Well it appears your power may come useful to stop Sombra. But you need something else to achieve that." Luna said.

"And what would that be? Shouldn't this be enough?" Kyle said.

"Technically yes. However we can't let Sombra take the Empire again. So you will have this to help you." Celestia said as she used her magic to give Kyle a necklace with a medallion of different animals.

"What is this?" Kyle said.

"This is the Medallion of Animalshifting. It will shapeshift you into different animals that can help you stop Sombra." Celestia said.

"Thanks Celestia. I promise that I will stop Sombra! He's gonna be dead by dawn!" Kyle said.

"Good. Now go. There's no time to waste." Celestia said as Kyle put the medallion on and turned into energy and went out the door.

When he got outside the energy started to form his body til he was whole again. Then he walked to Spike.

"Spike? What's wrong with Twilight this time? Still worried that she might fail?" Kyle said.

"Yeah dude." Spike said as Twilight began to sing.

She sang all about how she was prepared for anything. Even Spike joined in the song. They sang and danced til it was over and they got to the train station.

"Hey man I forgot to ask. What's that on your neck?" Spike said.

"That is the Medallion of Animalshifting. Celestia said it was supposed to help me shapeshift into animals and stop Sombra." Kyle said.

"Whoa! That's cool. But I think you need some clothes. Since you got only your shorts on and it's cold over there. Rarity can arrange that for you." Spike said.

"Yeah you're probably right. I do need something to keep me warm." Kyle said.

"Don't worry. Rarity has tons of clothes. Im sure she'll let you borrow some. Just remember to return them." Spike said.

"Ok Spike. Let's wait for the others." Kyle said as the trio waited for Twilight's friends to arrive.

After 2 hours of Kyle and Spike were talking about what Twilight could be prepared for.

"So Kyle. What do you think Twilight is prepared for?" Spike said.

"Beats me dragon dude. As far as im concerned she'll be needed all the help she can get." Kyle said.

"Twilight!!" A voice said. The duo turned and saw Twilight's friends at the station as Applejack gave her a hug.

"Did you pass?" Applejack said as Pinkie came in with her cannon.

"Are we gonna celebrate your success with Princess Celestia?" Pinkie said as confetti came out but was stopped by Kyle as he placed it back in.

"Hold on candy brain. Let's not get all crazy just yet." Kyle said as Pinkie was a little disappointed.

"He's right. We're going to the Crystal Empire." Twilight said. But all her friends were confused.

"Oh Rarity? Could you give Kyle something warm to wear?" Spike said.

"Sure darling." Rarity said as she got a suitcase full of clothes. "Here. Try some of these on."

Kyle looked at the stuff she had. But he always had an idea. He closed his eyes and put his fingers on his forehead which created purple rings as they landed on the clothes. Then they started morphing into a wrestling attire and came to Kyle put themselves on him. First the spiky gloves, then the sleeveless shirt, next the pants and boots, the belt and he looked at his new clothing.

"Oh yeah baby! Now what is missing? Wait! I know!" Kyle said.

He zapped a mask in there and morphed into a Luchador mask that was gray with purple stripes and was placed on his face. Then he grabbed a scarf and morphed into a purple cape with a hoodie as he placed it on him. Now he was ready. The ponies all looked surprised seeing his look.

"Now that's what I'm talking about!! Let's go stop this Sombra douchebag!" Kyle said.

The train chugged along til it arrived at Northern Equestria where the Crystal Empire was. Everypony hopped off the train worried seeing all the snow that was blowing around. Rarity was the only one not worried.

"Ha! And you all made fun of me for having so many stars." Rarity said as Spike carried the luggage.

"I didn't say a word." Spike said as he accidentally slipped and dropped the luggage. He went after the loose stuff.

"Twilight!" A male voice said.

"Shining Armor?" Twilight said as a male humanoid unicorn came out of the snow removing his mask.

"Twily!! You made it!" Shining said as the two embraced each other. "We better get moving. There's things we don't wanna run into when it's dark."

"What kind of things?" Fluttershy said.

"Let's just say the Crystal Empire isn't the only thing that returned." Shining Armor said.

That made everypony nervous when they heard that.

"Ok Shining. But first I like you to meet someone who will help us." Twilight said.

"Alright Twily. Who is it?" Shining said.

Then the two crystal radios rose out of the ground and started playing music which startled everyone. Then the purple energy started forming into Kyle as well as his clothing appeared. Then he landed on the ground and did his entrance but Twilight twitched her eye again. He stopped the music and got rid of the crystal radios.

"Must you do that every time?!" Twilight said.

"Um yeah. Since it's only fair that your brother gets to see me in action." Kyle said.

"So Twily. Who is he?" Shining said.

"That's Kyle. He'll help us stop Sombra. And he has some electric power inside him." Twilight said.

"Well the more the merrier. Let's go." Shining said.

They were all walking to the Crystal Empire in the blizzard. But Kyle was the only one who wasn't cold.

"Something keeps trying to get in! We think it's the unicorn king who originally cursed the place!" Shining said.

"But Princess Celestia sent me to find a way to protect the empire! If King Sombra can't get in then it must already be protected!" Twilight said but got shocked by Kyle.

"Oh put a sock in it smartass! Don't you think that maybe whatever's protecting the Crystal Empire now might not be strong enough to hold Sombra?!" Kyle said.

Suddenly they all heard a noise from the distance and everyone was scared except Kyle.

"It's one of the Pegasus isn't it?!" Fluttershy said.

"No Fluttershy. That's Sombra!!" Kyle said.

"We have to get to the Crystal Empire! Now!" Shining said.

Then a dark shadow with green eyes came out scaring everyone. That was Sombra. Spike was scared too as Shining took him away from the shadow. Sombra started chasing them but our heroes saw a shining barrier meaning they are almost there!

"Almost there!" Shining said.

"Hey Shining! Let's slow this creep down!" Kyle said.

"You read my mind dude!" Shining said as the two walked towards him.

"Ok King Sombra. You think your pretty tough huh? Well let's see how you like it picking on someone your own size!" Kyle said.

Then the medallion glowed and purple electricity surrounded him and transformed him into a giant gorilla. He jumped high and landed low releasing a roar. That made Sombra jump back a bit. But he charged at him when suddenly Shining blasted some magic at him. He was angry from that and covered Shining in shadow. With the girls and Spike they got in the barrier all safe from Sombra.

"Everypony ok?" Twilight said as the others agreed.

They we see Shining Armor and Kyle coming in. Kyle was ok but Shining had black crystals on his horn. Twilight was worried when she saw that.

"Oh no. Shining. Your horn." Twilight said.

"Sombra got him Twilight. He placed some kind of black crystals on his horn and now he can't do magic." Kyle said.

Then everyone looked around at the scenery seeing the Crystal Empire was beautiful.

"Sparktacular!!" Pinkie said.

"Nice. Now let's see what the Crystal Empire has in store. Maybe it can help us stop Sombra." Kyle said.

Then everyone walked to the Crystal Empire. Kyle may got lucky this time with Sombra but he needs to up his game to really beat him.

Everyone looked around the Crystal Empire and loved the scenery. The one who loved it most was Rarity. She couldn't breathe properly when she saw this.

"It's gorgeous!! There are no words!" Rarity said but Applejack snapped her out of it.

"Focus Rarity. Were here to help Twilight. Not admire the scenery." Applejack said.

"I don't see what the big deal is. It's just another old castle to me." Rainbow said but Rarity didn't like that.

"Another old..?! Have you lost your mind?! Look at..." Rarity said as the two laughed meaning it was a joke.

"Very funny." Rarity said.

"Uh girls? Where Kyle?" Fluttershy said.

"Is that him right there?" Applejack said.

They all turned and saw Kyle walking to two red crystals. He placed a hand on one of them absorbing the energy out of it and taking out a crystal in the shape of a diamond which turned into fragments. Then he had an idea. He zapped the fragments of the crystal and they floated in the air magnetically connecting themselves onto the diamond forming a weapon. When the glow died down it became a crystal sword with a lightning bolt symbol in the middle. He stared at it in amazement and grabbed it.

"Amazing. With this powerful weapon in my grasp I will bring down Sombra faster than the speed of light!" Kyle said.

They he had another idea. He conjured a ball of purple lightning and threw at the other crystal which after it got shocked it started transforming. The crystal began morphing and forming arms and legs and the ball of purple lightning went to the chest and he was complete. He stared at Kyle and started to talk.

"Master. The Crystaling is reporting for duty sir." It said.

Kyle stared at the creature in amazement and gave it a task.

"Ahh. You will make a wonderful servant to me. Here's your task. I need you to find a diamond, a sapphire, a ruby, and an emerald. Cause I think you need some playmates. Find them and bring them to me in the Crystal Empire. " Kyle said.

" Yes Master. It will be done." The Crystaling said as it took off doing it's task.

Then Kyle turned to the girls who were shocked at all of this.

"Uh Kyle? How in the hay did you do that?" Applejack said.

"I guess it must be new abilities. Now let's head inside." Kyle said as they all went in the Crystal Empire.

Inside the throne room we see another humanoid ailcorn. She was trying to keep the barrier alive but hasn't got any sleep. Then she saw Twilight and her friends along with Kyle.

"Cadence!" Twilight said as she went to her.

"Sunshine, sunshine ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!" They both said and laughed.

"We need to get together when the fate of Equestria isn't on balance." Cadence said.

"Are you okay?" Twilight said.

"Cadence has been using her magic to spread love and peace. That seems to be protecting the Empire. But she hasn't slept nor ate. I want to help but my magic is countered by King Sombra." Shining Armor said.

"It's alright Shining. Im fine." Cadence said.

"Um no girl. You're not fine. You are extremely tired and can't keep up any longer." Kyle said.

"Yes. Cadence this is Kyle. He's going to help us stop Sombra. But what he said is right. If your magic fails...well we all saw what's waiting out there." Shining Armor said.

"That's why were here." Twilight said.

"Why were all here." Applejack said as the others agreed.

"With Cadence using all her strength to keep the spell going and me keeping watch for any signs of trouble we haven't been able to get any information from the Crystal Ponies." Shining Armor said.

"Crystal Ponies?! There are Crystal Ponies?!" Rarity said as she got shocked by Kyle.

"Calm down you crazy crystal obsessed freak!" Kyle said.

"Sorry. Please continue." Rarity said.

"But we have to believe that one of them knows how to protect the Empire without using Cadence's magic." Shining Armor said.

Then Twilight had an idea.

"A research paper!" Twilight said.

"Huh?" Shining and Kyle said.

"That must be part of my test! Gathering information from the Crystal Ponies and bring them to you! This is exciting! I love research papers!" Twilight said.

"Yeah. Who doesn't?" Rainbow said.

"Ooh lemme guess! Is it Spike? Is it Fluttershy? Rarity?" Pinkie said as she got shocked by Kyle again.

"Enough with the jokes Pinkie. This is not something to fool around with." Kyle said as she got up all disappointed but shrugged it off.

"Don't worry big brother. Im really good at this sort of thing." Twilight said. Then she took off with her friends leaving Kyle alone with Shining and Cadence.

"Ok then. Well I guess we gotta find something else to protect the Empire without using Cadence's magic." Kyle said.

"Yeah. Maybe your lightning powers can help with that." Shining Armor said.

"Yes. So Kyle. How were you able to possess such power?" Cadence said.

"Long story short a feel in a tank of nightmare eels and got bit by them giving me this power." Kyle said.

"Ouch. That must really be painful. But if you survived that and got the power then I wish to see what you can do." Cadence said.

"And how would I do that?" Kyle said.

"Well I saw you creating that sword. So maybe in a duel." Shining Armor said as he got out his sword.

"Oh. So you want a training battle do ya?" Kyle said as he took out his crystal sword.

"Well then. En garde!" Kyle said.

"Time to get some training in for fighting King Sombra. Ready?" Shining Armor said.

"I was born ready. Come on!!" Kyle said.

The two were in a fighting position ready for the battle to take down Sombra. Who will be victorious? Will it be Shining or will it be Kyle?

The two continued staying in position til Kyle let out a battle cry charging at Shining Armor. He did the same til their swords clashed. Then broke out a sword fight as the two were using them to attack. They kept countering each other while sometimes they would get a few lucky hits on them. This sword duel lasted for a long hour til Kyle broke Shining's sword in 2.

"Okay. Not bad for your sword skills. Now let's see if you can survive magic. Cadence." Shining Armor said.

She blasted some magic quickly and stayed in focus on the barrier. The beam was coming at Kyle but he conjured a shield around himself and dodged the beam.

"Wow. Nice move." Shining Armor said.

"Thanks. Now lemme show you one of my moves." Kyle said.

He conjured some purple lightning and threw it at Shining. But everytime he did Shining would dodge it. Considering it was a training battle Kyle knew that he doesn't want to hurt Shining Armor. Besides Twilight would be pissed if he did.

"Ok you can shoot purple lightning. Nice one. Any other moves you have?" Shining Armor said.

"I don't know. Let's see." Kyle said.

He saw a crystal and had an idea. He zapped it causing it to morph into a beast. The transformation was complete and the crystal beast was ready to attack.

"Crystal Beast! Get him!!" Kyle said.

The beast obeyed his command and ran towards Shining Armor. He dodged it's punches as well as it's stomps. Then Shining took another sword and dodged more of his attacks. Another hour passed and the crystal beast couldn't keep up anymore and fell down in pieces.

"So you can summon crystal like beasts?" Shining Armor said.

"Looks like it. I actually have a crystal servant looking for some gems so I can summon an army to stop Sombra." Kyle said.

"Smart thinking. Now try using that medallion on your neck." Shining Armor said.

"Sure thing. But don't mess with the bull or you'll get the horns." Kyle said.

The medallion glowed and purple lightning sparked around him. Doing that transformed him into a rampaging bull. He let out an angry bull roar and charged at Shining Armor. He dodged every time Kyle got closer to him. 2 hours went by and they decided to take a break.

"Ok im tired. How about you Kyle?" Shining Armor said.

"Whew! Yeah man. Let's just rest for a bit. We don't wanna tire ourselves out before we face Sombra." Kyle said.

"Good idea. Though I can't fight without my sword." Shining Armor said.

"No worries. I'll fix that." Kyle said as he conjured some purple lightning and got some crystals and used them to upgrade Shining's sword. He finished it and gave it to him.

"Wow. It looks better than before!" Shining Armor said.

"I knew you like it." Kyle said.

Then after he said that the Crystaling came in with a sack he was carrying and headed to Kyle.

"Uh Kyle? Who is that?" Shining Armor said.

"Don't worry. That's my servant. He won't harm you. So bud. You got something for me?" Kyle said.

"Yes Master. The gems you asked for are right here." The Crystaling said.

"Excellent. Now we can raise some more buddies to help us stop Sombra." Kyle said as he opened the sack.

He took out the gems that the Crystaling got and placed them on the ground. Then backing up he conjured some purple lightning and threw at them. Once they all got shock the energy went into them and glowed.

"Rise my shining warriors! Rise and serve your new master!!" Kyle said.

Then the gems began transforming and they grew bigger to the size of him. They got out some arms and legs and a purple jewel with a lightning bolt symbol one appeared on their foreheads. The transformations were complete and they were ready to serve.

"The Crystal Warriors are ready to serve you!!" They said.

"Wonderful. Now from this day forward you will be know as the Crystal Warriors. But your solo names are Raging Ruby, Sparkle Sapphire, Diamond Surfer, and Emerald Shine. Now we will serve Cadence and Shining Armor in helping them defeat an evil king named Sombra." Kyle said.

"There will be nothing to stop your flawless, unparalleled victory Master!" Diamond Surfer.

"Ahh glad to hear that. Now I want you guys to keep a lookout on Twilight and her friends to see if they got the information that they need. We must find another way to help us stop Sombra. Kyle said.

"Yes Master. Consider the job done." Sparkle Sapphire said.

The Crystal Warriors all looked out the window to see where Twilight is and hope that they can help her.

"Ok. Bringing in some more Crystal Warriors to help me and Cadence. Nice." Shining Armor said.

"Thanks. Now let's go Crystaling. We gotta check on the progress that Twilight's making." Kyle said.

"Yes Master." The Crystaling said.

Then the two walked out of the Crystal Empire and headed off to find Twilight and her friends to see if they got anywhere closer for another way to save their beloved kingdom.

Meanwhile with Twilight and Spike they were trying to get information on how they can stop King Sombra. But so far they got nothing.

"Are you sure? Positively sure?" Twilight said.

"Im sorry. I wish I can help you. But I can't remember much since King Sombra came to power. Have we really been gone for a thousand years?" A crystal pony said.

With Kyle and the Crystaling they were watching from behind a house.

"King Sombra's spell really did a number on them. It's almost like they have amnesia from that." Kyle said.

"Yes Master. The Crystal Ponies can't seem to remember anything about how to protect the Empire. It looks like King Sombra didn't want anyone to stop him from taking it." The Crystaling said.

"Let's check on the others. See if they got anything." Kyle said as the two left.

Back with Twilight and Spike they didn't get anything from her. She closed the door and they got off the steps.

"Well that was a total bust." Spike said.

"Maybe the others are having better luck." Twilight said.

With Rainbow she was trying to force some information out of another crystal pony. But ended with the same result.

"There has to be a way to protect the Empire. Do you know anything about it huh?" Rainbow said getting in her face.

"I wish I knew. Really." The crystal pony said. But Rainbow wasn't giving up.

"Come on! You gotta know something!!" Rainbow said but got shocked by purple lightning and scaring the pony. But he stopped and slowly went to her calmly.

"Im so sorry about that miss. But are you sure that you can't remember anything about how to protect the Empire?" Kyle said.

"Yes. I don't have any information." She said leaving.

"Well if Rainbow wasn't forcing her then we be getting somewhere Master." The Crystaling said.

"Yes. Well let's see how the others are coming along." Kyle said as the two left.

With Fluttershy she tried asking nicely about how to protect the Empire but the crystal ponies weren't responding and were all in the dumps. She was about to use her Stare but decided not to. Kyle and the Crystaling saw this and they facepalmed. With Pinkie she pretended to be a ninja to gather information. But that obviously didn't work as they didn't understand the tactics she did. Kyle and the Crystaling frowned as they shook their heads in disappointment. With Rarity she did the exact opposite and instead gave a speech to the crystal ponies and they were confused as heck. She finished and smiled while they disappeared. Kyle and the Crystaling weren't not impressed by that.

"Really girl? You seriously gonna act like that?" Kyle said.

Everyone got back to the Empire and Kyle showed up with the Crystaling with disappointed looks on their faces.

"I take it you all had no luck." Kyle said.

"Yeah. I got nothing! But you didn't have to zap me!!" Rainbow said. Rarity was still doing her mane before they all looked at her.

"Oh I got nothing." Rarity said.

"Of course you didn't. You were in Crystal Fantasyland!" The Crystaling said.

She frowned as Fluttershy came to her but relieved to be Pinkie.

"My cover has been blown! Repeat blown!" Pinkie said.

"How about you stop with the jokes and take this seriously stupid?!?" The Crystaling said.

"Whoa man calm down. None of the other girls got any information either. It's obvious that Sombra's spell gave them amnesia." Kyle said.

"He's right. They can't remember anything." Fluttershy said.

"Which is why I got some back up. Get in here Crystal Warriors!!" Kyle said.

The crystal radios came out and started playing the music. Then to everyone's surprise 4 warriors came from the ceiling and landed right in front of them. The girls were all shocked as Twilight turned off the music and stared at them.

"Kyle. Who the hay are they?!" Twilight said.

"Girls meet the Crystal Warriors. Diamond Surfer, Emerald Shine, Raging Ruby, and Sparkle Sapphire. They are my crew and will help in anyway." Kyle said.

"Well im glad you got back up. But here's something you should hear. The only thing I was able to get out of the crystal ponies was something about a library." Applejack said.

That statement made Twilight twitch.

"A library? Why didn't you say so?!" Twilight said as she headed off.

"I thought I just did." Applejack said as the others followed her.

"Her noggin definitely went bye bye after hearing that Master." Sapphire said.

"Yes it did. But maybe that library contains the answer we need." Kyle said as they all headed off.

They all arrived at the library and inside was all made out of crystal and lots of books to read. Twilight couldn't breathe properly as she saw this.

"I just...I dont what to....there are no words." Twilight said.

"Yep. Her brain's been turned into mush." Emerald said.

"Ok guys let's focus here. We need a way to protect the Empire." Kyle said as they heard a voice drawing their attention.

"Um may I help you?" The librarian said.

"Yes. We are looking for a book." Twilight said.

"Well we have plenty of those." The librarian said.

"You do. You really do." Twilight said in wonder.

"Forgive her clueless nature ma'am. To be specific were looking for a book that can tell us about how to protect the Empire like back in the day." Raging Ruby said.

"Oh a history book. Yes." The librarian said smiling but didn't say where.

"And do you know where we can find it?" Diamond said.

"I don't know. Im not sure if I work here." The librarian said as the Crystal Warriors facepalmed.

"Sombra's got to her too Master." The Crystaling said.

"Alright guys new plan. We split up and find the book we need." Kyle said as everyone split up.

"Lemme know if you need anything." The librarian said.

Everyone looked all around for the book they needed but so far they can't find it. 2 hours went by and they were lost on finding it.

"Anyone else think that this is a lost cause?" Applejack said.

"It's not just you AJ. There's no sign of that o e specific book." Kyle said.

"Master!! I think I found the book!!" Emerald said drawing everypony's attention.

"Nice work Emerald!" Kyle said.

He gave Kyle the book and Twilight saw the title.

"History of the Crystal Empire. I just hope it has the answers we need." Twilight said opening the book.

Back at the Crystal Empire Twilight shared the info to her brother and Cadence to see if that will stop Sombra.

"The Crystal Faire is an annual event held in the Crystal Empire. It was established by the Crystal Ponies' first queen and became their most important tradition. The Faire is held every year to "renew the spirit of love and unity in the Empire so the Crystal Ponies could protect it from harm. My friends and I can put it together. Everything we need to know is in the book." Twilight said.

"That sounds pretty promising." Shining said as Cadence started growing more tired than ever.

"We'll get started right away. Come on Spike. We got a Crystal Faire to put together." Twilight said as Diamond took the book off of Spike and ran to catch up.

In the other room where her friends are she went to them and started singing.

Everyone joined in the song as they were all decorating for the Crystal Faire. By the time they were all finished Twilight smiled and the song ended.

"It looks amazing! I don't know how I could done this without you." Twilight said.

Back in the throne room Kyle and the Crystal Warriors were still concerned about the fair. Though everything was true in the book they still had second thoughts.

"Master. I don't know if this Crystal Faire can really stop King Sombra. I mean everything in the book was true but something is missing." Diamond said.

"Well when I was reading that it did mention something about a crystal heart being the centerpiece of the fair. But the problem is no one has seen it for years." Emerald said.

Kyle was thinking til he heard what Emerald said.

"Wait. A crystal heart you say Emerald?" Kyle said.

"Yes. The book said that it was the centerpiece of the first fair. Legend has it that when it gains enough love and peace it reaches it's full power and can vanquish any threat." Emerald said.

"Hmm. Interesting. And does this crystal heart rid of the shadows that lurk in the Empire?" Kyle said.

"We dont know for sure. But im guessing that maybe we just need that to vanquish Sombra." Emerald said.

Kyle thought about it and after thinking about it he has the answer.

"You might be on to something. If we can find that crystal heart and bring it out we can stop King Sombra with ease." Kyle said.

"But Master. No one knows where it is after a thousand years. It could take a while to find it." Sapphire said.

"He's got a point. How can we possibly find the crystal heart in time before Cadence's horn stops glowing?" Raging Ruby said pointing at Cadence.

"Now that's A real good question. Ok boys here's what we'll do. We'll go see how the Crystal Faire is doing so far and if Twilight made a fake version of the crystal heart then her friends can provide a distraction while we look for the real one. That way if Sombra breaks through the shield we'll be ready to light that sucker." Kyle said as he and the Crystal Warriors laughed.

"Excellent plan Master. Do you have any idea how much pain he's gonna be in once were through with him?" Diamond said.

"He'll be in so much pain he will never return to harm the Crystal Ponies." Emerald said.

"Exactly boys. Alright let's roll out!!" Kyle said as he and the Crystal Warriors were heading out to put their plan in motion.

Twilight was happy to see that the fair was all ready. She had to make one check to make sure she got everything.

“One last check to make sure everything is in place, and then the festivities can begin!” Twilight said.

“What's this thing for?” Applejack said about the sculpture.

“The last page of the book mentioned a Crystal Heart as the faire's centerpiece, so I used my magic to cut one out of a crystal block.” Twilight answered.

“Nice work, Twi. Think we're ready to get this faire up and runnin'.” Applejack said.

Meanwhile Kyle and his Crystal Warriors are planning to find the real deal. They were looking around for any signs of it.

”Master. I think that Sombra had it hidden somewhere where no one can get their hands on it.” Emerald said.

”And your right. Okay boys. We better find it soon. Cause Cadence can’t last forever.” Kyle said as they all went to get Twilight.

At the balcony Pinkie draws a deep breath and blows a flugelhorn.

“Flugelhorn!” Pinkie said and takes a deep breath.

“Hear ye, hear–“ Twilight said but was cut off by a flugelhorn.

“Flugelhorn!” Pinkie said and laughed nervously. “My bad.”

“Ahem. Hear ye, hear ye! Princess Cadance and Prince Shining Armor do cordially invite you to attend the Crystal Faire!” Twilight said.

The Crystal Ponies were all chatting when they heard that.

“Come on in, y'all. Got food and drinks thataway, games and crafts are thataway, Crystal Heart to the back near the Princess.” Applejack said.

“Did she say... Crystal Heart?” One of them said.

The Crystal Ponies were talking when they heard about the Crystal Heart.

“We totally nailed it, right? Must be feeling a lot of love and unity about now! Gonna have some grub, huh? What are you thinking? Crystal Empire berry pie? Maybe some crystal corn-on-the-cob!”Rainbow said when she heard a clang.

“What is with these ponies?!” Rainbow said.

“Seeing all of this, I feel like I'm starting to remember. Remember things from before the king.” One said.

“Me too.” Another said as they gasped.

“The Crystal Heart!” They said together.

"Do you think they really have it?" A female pony said.

"Of course we have it! Can't have a Crystal Faire without the Crystal Heart, right?" Rainbow said.

"Of course you can't. The whole purpose of the Crystal Faire is to lift the spirits of the Crystal Ponies, so the light within them can power the Crystal Heart, so that the Empire can be protected!" The librarian said and gasped. "I do work at the library!"

"W-what's that about 'powering the heart'?" Rainbow said.

"I just can't believe you found it. King Sombra said he'd hidden it away where we would never see it again! I only hope it will still be as powerful after all these years...! Mm, funnel cake!" The librarian said.

Rainbow made a strangled sound realizing the real answer of the Crystal Heart. She took a flag and covered the fake heart. That made Twilight a little mad.

"Why did you–" Twilight said.

"I think we may have a problem..." Rainbow said.

The two headed off for the Crystal Empire. Meanwhile Kyle and his Crystal Warriors heard the news.

"Master. I think they just now discovered that the Crystal Heart was a real relic and the ponies have their memories restored." Raging Ruby said.

"Oh shit. Come on boys! To the Empire now!!" Kyle said as they headed back.

Back at the Empire we see everyone at the balcony. Twilight didn't know that it was real all this time.

"I didn't know it was an actual relic! The book didn't mention anything about the Crystal Ponies powering the Heart! There was a page missing... How did I not notice?!" Twilight said.

"Because Sombra will do anything to prevent anyone stopping him. We were the only ones that knew this." Sapphire said.

"It's alright, Twilight." Cadence said.

Then suddenly she couldn't hold the spell any longer and fell. But Shining caught her and her horn stopped glowing. Kyle and the Crystal Warriors gasped.

"Twily..." Shining said.

"You idiot!! Do you have any idea what you did?!" Diamond said.

They all heard howling and the shield came down. There were dark clouds and shadows coming to cover the Crystal Empire in pure darkness. Kyle knew who is was when he heard growling.

"King Sombra's coming. For the Crystal Empire. Not good." Kyle said.

This spells trouble for our heroes.

When King Sombra rose up showing us his head he aimed at his goal: taking back the Crystal Empire. The gang on the balcony saw this and had to do something.

"The Empire's under attack!" Shining said.

Cadence snapped fully awake and recasted the spell. The shield came back up and Sombra was back out. But he still won't give up.

"I have to find the Crystal Heart!" Shining said.

"No. Cadence needs you. Crystal Warriors! Go with Twilight and Spike and find the Crystal Heart! I'll buy you some time." Kyle said.

"Master. What will you do?" The Crystaling said.

"Im gonna go face that fucker. If he thinks he can take the Empire away again he'll have to go through me first!" Kyle said.

"Alright. I'll warn my friends. Good luck Kyle." Twilight said.

He turned into energy and headed off to fight Sombra. Twilight and the Crystal Warriors with Spike headed to find the Crystal Heart.

Outside the shield we see Sombra still trying to get in. But he got zapped by purple lightning and forced him to go back to his human pony form. He looked terrifying as that but still is a dark king. He looked around seeing who zapped him. Then the energy formed into Kyle as he slowly landed on the ground and came face to face with Sombra.

"Well, well. What do we have here? A foolish creature who dares to fight me." King Sombra said.

"I will fight you Sombra. You will not harm the Crystal Ponies again. Leave now and never return or face my wrath." Kyle said.

"You think im gonna take orders from you? You are mistaken. Once I take back the Crystal Empire all the ponies will bow down to me!" Sombra said.

"You ain't getting that chance you phony king. Now En guarde!!" Kyle said drawing out his sword.

"Oh. So you wanna fight huh? Well then.." Sombra said drawing out a sword of his own. "Try and stop me."

Kyle growled and charged into battle with Sombra doing the same. They clashed their swords and started a sword fight. Kyle and Sombra were not backing down from this fight as they got a few lucky punches and slashes but Kyle wasn't affected by the slashes. They both dodged some attacks and parried each other's moves. This lasted for 40 minutes til Kyle got the upper hand and broke Sombra's sword in half and he fell to the ground. Kyle pointed his sword at him and gave him an angry look.

"Give up creep. You're not getting the Crystal Empire." Kyle said.

"Oh really? Better think twice. Cause your fear will prevent you from stopping me." Sombra said.

He flashed a pair of glowing green eyes at Kyle but it wasn't affecting him. Sombra didn't believe that and tried again only with the same results.

"What?! How are you not scared?!" Sombra said.

"Because. I don't have fear. I CAUSE fear!! Now you will see the power of me The Nightmare!!" Kyle said.

The medallion glowed and purple lightning sparked around him becoming a giant dinosaur! He roared at Sombra and he tried running as fast as he could but the dinosaur was faster and every time he tried to eat Sombra he dodged trying not to become a snack. He ran as fast as he can but didn't see the shield and slammed into it getting zapped and fell. He saw Kyle come back to normal and conjured some purple lightning and zapped Sombra again making him scream in pain. He stopped and Sombra laid there.

"Ok. You're pretty strong. But not enough." Sombra said.

He tried blasting some dark magic at Kyle but he dodged with trapping it in purple balls turning them into his own lightning. After 20 minutes he got tried and blasted one more as Kyle caught it and threw them back at Sombra as he yelled and got shocked in pain. He growled at Kyle when the last one hit him.

"Ok little boy. Enough games. I will take the land all the Crystal Ponies will be my slaves!! You can't stop me!" Sombra said.

"Enough with the bullshit already. Im just getting warmed up!!" Kyle said.

He conjured more purple lightning and zapped a barrier around him and Sombra trapping him.

"Are you afraid to fight me yourself you cowardly snake!!" Sombra said.

"A snake am I? Perhaps you like to see how snake like I can be!!" Kyle said.

The medallion glowed again and it turned him into a vicious black and purple king cobra snake. He stared at Sombra and hissed at him. He tried to bite him but he dodged every chance Kyle got. They he used his tail and tried squeezing the life out of him. Sombra struggled as he coughed up some blood. Then Kyle let him go and prepared to fight him again.

In the basement of the Crystal Empire we see the Crystal Warriors breaking Sombra's spell on the door that would lead them to the Crystal Heart. Twilight snapped out of it and was normal again after Diamond Surfer smashed the crystal into shards with his fist.

"What happened?" Twilight said.

"You were seeing your fears when you opened the door. Sombra must have placed it there so no one gets the Crystal Heart." Diamond said.

"Now we must hurry. There's no telling when Cadence's spell will vanish again." Sapphire said.

"You're right. Come on Twilight. Let's get that Crystal Heart." Spike said as everyone headed to the spot Sombra hid it.

Back with Kyle and Sombra they were still fighting. They threw a lot of punches at each other and they were bruised but still won't back down. Kyle zapped him with his purple lightning and fell down. Sombra got up and started feeling tired.

"You...can't... stop me." Sombra said.

"Well the mighty evil Sombra is feeling tired. Now give it up creep!! You will not harm the Crystal Ponies again and you won't have the Crystal Empire!" Kyle said.

"Grr. I will be victorious. You think that you can stop me. But you won't!!" Sombra said.

Fed up with hearing that he zapped him with his purple lightning and he went through the shield as Kyle went through too. They continued the fight and saw the shield come down again. All the Crystal Ponies were freaking out when they saw the storm rising above. Sombra smiled wickedly when that happened.

"Ahh yes. My glorious Crystal slaves." Sombra said.

He was about to escape and get the Crystal Heart when he saw Spike with it. But a gorilla hand grabbed him preventing him from going. He saw Kyle in his gorilla form holding him down. Then Kyle's Crystal Warriors came and got their weapons ready. Diamond had his fists ready for smashing, Raging Ruby had swords ready, and the others had their crystal cannons ready to fire.

"We got you now bitch. Prepare to die!" Raging Ruby said.

"Ok boys. Attack him now!!" Kyle said.

They all obeyed his command and started brutally attacking King Sombra. He could have used his magic to overpower them easy but their powers were too much for him. Then Cadence managed to get the Crystal Heart and saved Spike before he met his doom. She then placed the Crystal Heart in it's proper place activating it's power. Then a bright light shined through giving everyone a crystal look. Even returning the Crystal Ponies to normal. Rarity loved that look. And then they powered it up with all the love and hope to charge it to full power.

"What? No! This can't be!! I was gonna be victorious!!" Sombra said.

"Sorry Sombra. But you ain't getting the Crystal Empire. And now you're finished! This is the end for you!!" Emerald said.

"No! You can't do this!!" Sombra said.

"Oh yes we can!! So long phony king!!" Raging Ruby said.

Then the Crystal Heart shined all its light and when Sombra saw it and was engulfed in it he started cracking and yelled in defeat exploding to pieces instantly defeated. When Kyle and the Crystal Warriors saw that they cheered in victory and the Crystal Ponies cheered for them too.

"We did it Master!! Sombra is no more!!" Diamond said.

"Great job everyone. Im proud of you. Now let's regroup with Twilight and the others." Kyle said as they headed to them.

Sombra was defeated and now for the final results.

As the Crystal Empire returned to normal and its citizens are free from being enslaved again the gang all headed back home to Ponyville.

“I do so wish it was permanent. Did you see how my mane just absolutely sparkled?” Rarity said.

“But... good things are better when they're a rarity.” Applejack said.

“Aww.” Rarity said and laughed

“Everything's gonna be okay. You've gotta stop saving my rump like this. It's starting to get embarrassing.” Shining said.

“Wasn't me who saved you in the end. It was Spike.” Twilight said.

“It's just a test. Maybe she'll let you retake it.” Shining said.

“I don't think she's gonna give me a new test.” Twilight said.

”I keep telling you to stop freaking out. But we all saved the Crystal Empire in the end. It’s gonna be ok.” Kyle said.

“Keep it together, buddy... Gotta stay strong... for Twilight...” Spike said to himself.

Back at Canterlot Celestia saw the Empire shining it’s light through out Equestria.

“It's beautiful.” Celestia said.

“I wish it had been me who ultimately made it so. But it wasn't.” Twilight said.

“Twilight, as I understand it, Spike brought Princess Cadance the Crystal Heart because you weren't sure how quickly you could find a way to escape the tower. You weren't willing to risk the future of the citizens of the Crystal Empire in an effort to guarantee your own. Far better that I have a student who understands the meaning of self-sacrifice than one who only looks out for her own best interests.” Celestia said

“Does this mean...?” Twilight said.

In the other room everyone was waiting for Twilight to return. Spike was nervous about this.

“She's totally gonna lose it!” Spike said breathing heavy. “Keep it together, buddy... Gotta stay strong... for Twilight...!”

Then Twilight came out with a big smile on her face.

“I passed!” Twilight said.

Everyone cheered long and loud when she mentioned the good news.

”Well good job Twilight. Now you can finally relax and not freak out again.” Kyle said.

“Yeah. And Kyle? Since you helped us stop Sombra Celestia offered you to stay with us in Ponyville as your home.” Twilight said.
